A little thin for the price,
NOTE: I ordered this item when it was discounted during the Christmas sales season, so the price I paid was about twenty dollars under the current retail shown.
This sweater is pretty thin compared to others I have purchased in the past. I got black, and when I hold it up I can see”through” the weave of a single layer. Definitely this would be OK for layering as a cardigan over another shirt or a camisole, but I think it’s too thin to wear alone as a sweater.
So, even for the lower price that I paid, I don’t think this was a good value. True, it shows that it is 100% cashmere, but that doesn’t automatically mean “quality.” I think you could probably find nicer sweaters at a lower price in many stores—maybe cashmere, maybe not.

|Great style, fit, and construction,
I have been on the hunt for a 2 ply cashmere cardigan since my Valerie Stevens Two Ply Cashmere cardigan wore out over 7 years ago. Though I have ordered several, this is the first I’ve found that combines a nice color with good fit, understated cuffs, delicate button bands, and quality cashmere.
The fabric is super soft and lightweight. Contrary to what you may think, 2 ply means it is a very fine yarn, which makes for a thin sweater that is great for summer nights or cool office buildings. The styling can only be described as classic, with slim lines and full length sleeves (I personally cannot stand sleeves that are too short), and I found the sizing to be true. I ordered a medium and it was just right, whereas I might sometimes wear a small in items that are generous or a large in items that are slim. I’ve worn the cardigan several times and have had no trouble with stretching. I’ve liked it so much that I ordered two more so I don’t have to go hunting for another one when this one wears out! At the current price of about $60 it is great value.

I normally wear an xs, 0-2, I bought a large because that was the only size they had for the red one, and it actually fits me slightly loose as if it were a medium or small. I originally thought I might give it to my mom, but seeing how small it is, I will probably keep it for myself. It’s a nice throw on cardigan, nothing special about the design, which looks like it was in fashion 20 years ago, but being as basic as it is, I probably will wear it with yoga pants on days when I’m lounging inside the house. It’s definitely soft, not the best cashmere in the world, but way better than wool.
